# Performance Marketing: setup, testing rules and reporting.

Performance marketing as a service: account structure, tracking setup, testing rhythm, budget rules and reporting for Meta, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

How we set up and run ad accounts: account structure, measurement, testing rhythm, rules for scaling and pausing, and the report you actually get.

The difference between two ad accounts with the same budget is rarely audience knowledge. It’s structure, measurement and discipline in testing. This page describes our operating model in detail. The question of why classic setups fail, and how creative and media buying connect, is covered on our performance marketing agency page.

## Account structure and measurement

Measurement comes before the first campaign. We check server-side data matching, reconcile events between website, shop and ad account, and define a single leading metric per account. Only then do we build the structure: a few campaigns with a clear job, rather than thirty campaigns that grew historically with no one owning them.

- Review of pixel, server-side matching and event quality
- One leading metric per account, documented in writing
- Campaign structure with a maximum of three active levels
- Consistent naming so reporting can be automated
- Separate budgets for testing and scaling
- Predefined rules for pausing and scaling instead of gut calls

## Testing rhythm

Each week, four to eight new variants go live on Meta and eight to 15 on TikTok. We always test just one variable: opening line, length, call to action or format. A test runs at least until a predefined minimum number of results is reached. Nothing gets switched off or turned up before that, even if a number looks good early on.

## Budget rules

We scale in steps of at most 20 to 30 percent every two to three days, so the learning phase doesn’t reset. Ads get paused once they hit a defined spend threshold without results. Between 15 and 25 percent of budget always stays in testing, even when everything is performing well. This is exactly what prevents a crash once existing ads start losing effectiveness.

## What you get in reporting

A dashboard with live numbers across all channels, a weekly update with spend, cost per result, return on ad spend and the week’s decisions, plus a monthly call on budget allocation. Every account change is logged so it stays traceable who changed what and when.

## Process

### Check measurement

Event quality, server-side matching and reconciliation between shop and ad account.

### Set up structure

Rebuild campaigns, standardize naming, separate budgets.

### Plan creative

Tie production volume to the testing rhythm so supply never runs dry.

### Launch and learning phase

Start with low budget, seven to 14 days without interventions.

### Scale by the rules

Stepwise increases, pausing at a defined threshold, continuous variant supply.

### Reporting and allocation

Weekly update, monthly decision on budget allocation.

## Deliverables

### Measurement & account audit

Before new campaigns launch, we review events, data paths, consent signals and existing account structure. Open measurement gaps are documented, not hidden.

### Testing system

Hypothesis, variable, runtime and decision criteria are set before every test. That makes it possible to actually turn a result into a production or budget decision.

### Creative operations

Ad variants are planned as continuous input. Findings on opening, format and message feed directly into the next production brief instead of just a report.

### Budget & documentation

Scaling and pausing follow agreed limits. Changes and their rationale stay traceable, so short-term fluctuations don’t trigger conflicting interventions.

## FAQ

### Who is Performance Marketing not the right service for?

Performance Marketing makes sense when paid distribution, measurement and creative testing need to run together. If regular content is still missing, UGC or social production can be built first. That's why our first call also checks starting point, ownership and available production capacity, not just goals.

### What needs to be in place before Performance Marketing starts?

A clear business goal and economic target metric; A working landing page with sufficient offer clarity; Budget for the learning phase and continuous creative supply. If something is missing, we surface it during onboarding and clarify whether it gets resolved before kickoff or scheduled as its own step.
