# Instagram Marketing: surfaces, volumes and responsibilities.

Instagram marketing as a service: Reels, Stories, Highlights, shop integration and message management. Volumes, responsibilities and reporting rhythm.

Instagram consists of five surfaces, each with its own logic. This page shows which ones we manage, at what volume, and who owns which task.

An Instagram engagement rarely fails because of the Reel. It fails because Stories, Highlights, Shop and DMs belong to no one in particular. That’s why we settle responsibilities before the first piece of production. If you want to know the content strategy behind it and how we build Reels reach, our Instagram agency page is the right starting point.

## The five surfaces and their scope

Every surface gets its own delivery scope so nothing falls through the cracks. The scope below describes a mid-sized engagement.

- Reels: five to twelve per week, each with two opening-line variants
- Stories: daily on weekdays, three to six elements per day
- Highlights: fixed structure for offer, FAQs, reviews and references, updated quarterly
- Feed: two to four fixed posts per month for offer and orientation
- Direct messages: managed on weekdays with prepared standard replies

## Responsibilities between you and us

We deliver production, publishing, structure and reporting. What stays with you is product information, prices, availability and anything that counts as a binding answer to a customer. In practice this means: for DM inquiries, we answer general questions from an agreed reply list, and pass anything about orders, complaints or price negotiation on to your team.

## Shop integration and product tagging

For brands with their own shop, we set up the product catalog and tag products in Reels and posts. That requires a well-maintained product feed with correct prices and stock, plus working tracking on your website. We check both during onboarding, because a broken feed makes every later analysis useless.

## Reporting rhythm

On Fridays, a quick numbers snapshot covering reach from recommendations, saves, profile visits and DM inquiries. Monthly, a detailed report with top-performing formats, recommendations for next month, and a list of content that should keep running as an ad.

## Process

### Audit

Review profile, top past content, Highlights structure, shop integration and tracking.

### Surfaces and volumes

Set scope per surface and clarify responsibilities between your team and us.

### Foundation

Rebuild Highlights, create a reply list for DMs, set up product tagging.

### Production

Reels in blocks, Stories on an ongoing basis, Feed posts per the monthly plan.

### Ads

Extend strong Reels as ads, distribute creator content through their own channel.

### Reporting

Weekly numbers snapshot, monthly report with recommendations.

## Deliverables

### Surfaces with clear roles

Reels, Stories, Feed, Highlights and messages aren’t planned as interchangeable formats. Each surface supports a specific phase, from discovery to inquiry.

### Reels & Story production

Filming blocks deliver plannable Reels; timely glimpses and dialogue formats stay flexible. Content is cut so message and interface stay legible on small screens.

### Profile & orientation

Bio, pinned content and Highlights answer a new visitor’s most important questions. Outdated offers and inconsistent calls to action get removed.

### Messages & handover

Common questions get consistent answers. Binding answers about orders, availability or complaints go to your team through a defined path.

## FAQ

### Who is Instagram Marketing not the right service for?

Instagram Marketing fits when several surfaces need to work together on an ongoing basis. For broader multi-channel management, Social Media Marketing is more suitable; for pure ad operations, Performance Marketing. That's why our first call also checks starting point, ownership and available production capacity, not just goals.

### What needs to be in place before Instagram Marketing starts?

Current product, offer and availability data; Access to profile, catalog and existing measurement; Clear ownership for binding customer matters. If something is missing, we surface it during onboarding and clarify whether it gets resolved before kickoff or scheduled as its own step.
